Long's NRL future clouded with
latest setback

The National Rugby League career of Nathan Long could be over, with the Manly prop to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery on Monday.

The 29-year-old's contract with the Sea Eagles expires at the end of this season and doubts have arisen over whether the club will risk re-signing him. Manly boss Ian Thomson says it's too early to declare the club will re-sign Long, who may look to extend his career in England.

But Long believes he has another two years left to offer and hopes he hasn't played his last game for the Sea Eagles.
