Lyon out for three months

Parramatta centre, Jamie Lyon, has been ruled out of football for at least three months after tearing ligaments in his ankle in Friday night?s loss to the Newcastle Knights.

Lyon has since undergone surgery on his ankle and had a screw inserted to prevent any unnecessary movement. The loss of Lyon is a huge blow to the Eels finals aspirations as he was one of their form players and also the Blues with Newcastle Knights centre, Matthew Gidley, sure to be recalled for the decider at Stadium Australia on June 26.

If Lyon takes the full three months to recover, his season is almost certainly over as the Eels look to be long shots to finish in the top four after some indifferent form this season.
