Manly muscle over errant Tigers

Manly have moved into third position with a 36 points to 18 win over the Tigers in front of 11,162 fans at Campbelltown Stadium tonight.

It had been 15 years since the Sea Eagles had traveled to Campbelltown Stadium for an NRL game. They were there to spoil the party for Robbie Farah's 200th and Liam Fulton's 150th games.

Justin Horo has been a revelation after moving from the Eels to the north shore. He showed deceptive speed to latch onto a Kieran Foran grubber to open the scoring.

Not be out-done David Nofoaluma got the Tigers back into the contest with a stunning putdown. He got vertical from a Benji Marshall kick to plant it just inside the touchline. Marshall provided the conversion from the sideline to put icing on the cake of a special try.

Both teams weren't able to control the ball with any conviction spilling it but the Tigers weren't able to capitialise on any of their efforts.

Manly were able to though showing the class of a top four side. Firstly Steve Matai turned two defenders inside out to cross in the 18th minute. Jamie Lyon doubled the dose in the 31st after picking up a loose ball and out-pacing Benji Marshall to the try-line after Tim Simona failed to do so, a minute earlier.

They added another two try salvo after the halftime break with Lyon and Horo picking up braces from simple efforts once again pouncing on errors from the home side. It seemed the celebrations for Farah and Fulton would be muted.

Tigers showed some late spirit though with Curtis Sironen igniting a play down the shortside to send Tim Simona in to shorten the gap. Robbie Farah scored an effort typical of him from dummy-half to give the faint scent of a comeback.

The resistance was short lived though as Manly opted for the penalty goal to make the difference twelve in a game not short for penalties.

Daly Cherry-Evans put the final nail in the coffin when he sold the Tigers side a dummy to slice through for the final try. He was in danger of not finishing the game but instead finished off the Tigers in a 36-18 win.

Welcome to the golden west for tonight's clash! Tonight Campbelltown Stadium hosts their final fixture of 2013 with the Wests Tigers hosting the resurgent Manly Sea Eagles. Tigers are languishing in 15th position looking to send Marshall out on a high for the rest of the season. Manly will look to consolidate 4th position going into the finals.

Here come the Sea Eagles onto Campbelltown for the first time in 15 years! They are in their white away strip with the purple V.
