Maroons already lose a player

Queensland's State of Origin team is in a shambles with selectors ruling out one player less than an hour after naming the side for game one against NSW.

Newcastle's Robbie O'Davis has withdrawn from the team after selectors were advised he had a knee injury and would not be fit for the opening match at Suncorp Stadium on June 11.

Selectors are currently considering a replacement.

Canberra fullback Clinton Schifcofske was a shock omission from the original team but could get a reprieve and give the team a recognised goalkicker. Penrith fullback Rhys Wesser and Sydney's Shannon Hegarty would also be in contention.
