Marsh's place to hinge on medical

Queensland selectors will receive a medical report from the New Zealand Warriors today before deciding whether to include hooker PJ Marsh in the Maroons squad for the second State of Origin game.

Marsh spent Saturday night in a Sydney hospital after suffering a neck injury during the Warriors' 28-26 loss to Parramatta at Parramatta Stadium.

The Queensland number nine has ligament damage but was cleared of bone damage today and given permission to return to Auckland last night with his neck in a brace. Warriors doctor Chris Hanna will examine Marsh in the morning and Maroons selector Des Morris has confirmed they will be guided by his report.

Roosters utility Michael Crocker looms as the likely replacement if Marsh is unable to play.
