Mason signs with the Roosters

Willie Mason has confirmed he has signed with Sydney Roosters for the next three seasons.

Ending weeks of speculation over his playing future, Mason has just announced he will move to Bondi Junction after being granted a release from the final two years of his contract with the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs had given the 27-year-old Test forward permission to seek a new club after he went public with his issues with club management earlier this month.

Mason had been sounded out by several clubs - including St George Illawarra and English Super League club Wigan - but it came down to the Roosters and Cronulla, who also tabled an offer yesterday.
