McClennan
hoses down Benji comeback

New Zealand rugby league coach Brian McClennan says he knows nothing of rumours injured Wests Tigers five-eighth Benji Marshall could be available for next week's Test against Australia.

A rumour circulating on Sydney radio last night claimed Marshall had been cleared by Tigers' medical staff to resume playing. Marshall dislocated his shoulder in the dying minutes of the premier's clash against North Queensland three weeks ago.

McClennan said he had heard the rumours, but had heard nothing official from Tigers medical staff. He says he will talk to Tigers officials over the coming days, with Kiwi selectors to name their side for the Suncorp Stadium clash on Sunday night.
