Melita Sports to broadcast 2008 Rugby League World Cup

The Malta Rugby League (MRL) has welcomed the announcement that Melita Sports will broadcast the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.

Malta Development Officer Anthony Micallef commented "In the game's centenary year, it is admirable that the code of rugby league can be shared with emerging nations such as Malta."

"Australia as hosts will produce an absolute spectacle for the showpiece event on the Rugby League calendar and thanks to Melita Sports the Maltese people can truly be apart of it."

The 2008 Rugby League World Cup will kick off on October 25 with England hosting Papua New Guinea in a Pool 1 clash in Townsville. In Canberra on October 26, Scotland meet France to open Pool 2 proceedings whilst Pool 3 begins at Parramatta Stadium on October 27 between Tonga and Ireland.
