Mitchell returns to North Queensland

MITCHELL RETURNS TO NORTH QUEENSLAND

Hooker Anthony Mitchell has agreed to join the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys until the end of the 2013 NRL season after gaining an early release from his contract with the Sydney Roosters.

A former Townsville Brothers junior, Mitchell will return home tomorrow and is expected to join his new teammates in a training session at Dairy Farmers Stadium later in the afternoon.

The 23-year-old made his NRL debut for the Parramatta Eels in 2010 and switched to the Roosters midway through the 2011 season.

He played 16 matches for the Roosters - the latest coming against Manly on Sunday - to take his career tally to 23.
