Players Awards - Round 16

League Wrap: Round 16, 24-26 June 2005 The Leagueunlimited.com Player Awards sees Cowboys full back Matt Bowen still in front on 19 points. Dragons utility Ben Hornby is still holding second position on 17 points but is under pressure to hold his spot with the Dragons getting the bye next round and reports indicating that the injured Hornby may be sidelined in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile the shakers and movers are making their impression with last year?s winner Matt Orford scoring well and moving up to equal third position on 16 points. The Storm half back saw a return to form over the weekend, picking two points, after being anchored on 14 points for a number of weeks. Also in third position is Broncos five eighth Darren Lockyer who was unable to pick up any points this round but is still well in touch with the front runners.

Storm fullback Billy Slater scored a maximum three points to leap frog his way up the points table to grab outright fifth position in 14 points.

Not far away are Sea Eagles back rowers Ben Kennedy (13 points) and Steve Menzies (12 points), while Parramatta forward Nathan Hindmarsh and Warriors skipper Stacey Jones are well in contention on 11 points.
