Morley injured; latest on Gower

Great Britain forward Adrian Morley will be out for at least six weeks with a fractured eye socket after playing just one match for his new club in the English Super League.

The former Sydney Roosters prop suffered the injury on his Warrington debut against Wigan on Friday. X-rays have confirmed the extent of the damage, with Morley to be out of action until April at the earliest.

Meanwhile, new Penrith coach Matthew Elliott says Craig Gower remains very much in the running for the Panthers captaincy despite his involvement in a nightclub incident at the weekend.

Elliott says the club has cleared Gower of any wrongdoing after talking to witnesses and reviewing closed circuit television footage of an altercation at the Peppermint Lounge in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

It had been alleged the former Test halfback had bitten a man on the neck before becoming involved in a scuffle.
