Ken Nagas is set to make a return to the lime-green after retiring from first grade in July 2002 because of a chronic knee injury.
The former Raiders flyer was a utility back, starring at fullback, wing and centre in the Nation's Capital. Nagas, who turns 31 in a fortnight, has been playing in the local Group 8 competition for the Queanbeyan Kangaroos.
Unfortunate not to represent on more occasions, Nagas played two Origins for the Blues and five Super League Tests for Australia. Growing up and playing in Queensland, he was controversially graded in NSW one weekend when his father was away, allowing a sinister move by a local coach who realised his potential, to poach him from the Maroons.
Kenny will bring a bit more versatility to a backline lacking depth and penetration. A favourite son in Canberra territory, one of his most memorable moments was a dashing try in the 1994 Grand Final started deep inside the Raiders half by Paul Osborne. Nagas received the ball on the flank with about 65 metres to cover and a host of 'Dogs players in coming across in cover defence.
He beat them with consummate ease and scored under the posts.
