New look Storm start to take shape

South London Storm are pleased to announce the appointment of ex London Skolars head coach Marcus Tobin to the dual role of RFL Club and coach development officer for South London and South London Storm director of Rugby.

Marcus, who will start his new roles in January brings a wealth of experience to the club.

As a player Marcus represented both London Skolars and St Albans Centurions where he is still the clubs record points scorer in a season.

His coaching career started wth London Skolars in the BARLA National conference before moving on to London Broncos Academy and the England Lionhearts.

In 2003 Marcus moved back to London Skolars as assistant coach for their first season in NL2 before taking the head coaches job with Alex Smits for 2004 and 2005.

Since leaving Skolars he has worked for the RFL as a coaching educator and currently coaches Cambridge University.

The role of Club and coach development officer is a sport England / RFL initiative. In the job Marcus' main focus will be to improve the coaching of junor players and to aid the development of clubs and coaches.

As Storm director of Rugby he'll be responisble for coaching The first team in RLCP South and will over see the clubs new senior player pathway plan that incorporates Croydon Hurricanes u16's, the new South London Storm u18's and Storm "A".

The arrival of Marcus is the first in a series of new appointments to be announced in the coming weeks.
