New players give London boost

The club has signed Chorley Lynx hooker Dave McConnell on trial until the end of the season.

Of his arrival Tony Rea said: "Dave's not here simply to boost our squad, he's here to make a very important contribution to our team." Sunday's game is obviously of great importance and we are preparing accordingly" Mc Connell joined Chorley after being released by St Helens, where he had emerged through their Academy system. He has been excellent for Chorley this season in their march to the top of National League Two, and now has the chance to earn a permanent move to London. McConnell follows Wests Tigers duo Steve Trindall and Joel Caine in switching to Griffin Park on a short-term deal.

Caine, a three-quarter who played against Halifax last Friday, was the leading points scorer in the NRL in 2000. The former St George and Balmain player, made 75 appearances for Wests Tigers before arriving in London last week.

Sunday will see London meet competition leaders Bradford Bulls for the third time this season. So far it is one win apiece, however, when the Bulls last came to Griffin Park one month ago, they put 60 points past London.

London fans might prefer to remember more fondly the clash with the Bulls at Griffin Park last season. London won that encounter 15-14.

London meet Bradford Bulls this Sunday at 3pm at Griffin Park in what is a crucial battle for the Tetley's Super League Play Offs.
