News from around the traps

South Sydney forward Luke Stuart has been cited for kicking North Queensland fullback Matt Bowen but will escape a suspension.

Stuart has been charged with grade one contrary conduct by the NRL match review committee, but has had his penalty reduced after taking the seven-year incident-free discount. As a result, he will not miss any games regardless of whether he pleads guilty or contests the charge at the judiciary.

The incident occurred in the 36th minute of the Rabbitohs' 10-6 win against the Cowboys in Townsville last night.

Onto team news, and Parramatta utility Daniel Wagon is set to play his 200th NRL game when the Eels take on the Gold Coast at Carrara Stadium on Sunday.

Wagon has been named at lock in an unchanged Eels line-up from the one which narrowly lost to the Bulldogs last weekend. Eels coach Michael Hagan says Wagon's form this season has been outstanding.

Elsewhere, St George Illawarra prop Jason Ryles is out of tomorrow's Anzac Day clash against the Sydney Roosters due to a shoulder injury.

The loss of Ryles is a massive blow for the Dragons, who will now have to rely on a cast of youngsters up front against Roosters veterans Chris Beattie and Danny Nutley. Ryles jarred his shoulder in St George Illawarra's round four loss to Cronulla and says he is still feeling quite a lot of discomfort in the joints.

Dragons coach Nathan Brown will finalise his side later today. Both teams go in to the traditional clash desperate for a win with only one victory between the two sides so far this season.
