NRL Judiciary Analysis - Round 20

With plenty of conjecture over the charges laid today following Round 20 of the Telstra Premiership, we've broken down the who, what, how and why of the Match Review Committee's decisions.

Titans v Broncos

Ben Te'o (BRI)
was charged with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle on Titans prop Luke Bailey (60th minute). He will miss 1 week regardless if he takes the early guilty plea (112 penalty points) or contests the charge at the judiciary and is found guilty (150 penalty points).

Josh Hoffman (BRI) was charged with Grade 2 Dangerous Contact on Titans prop Luke Bailey as he scored a try (62nd minute). He will miss 1 week if he takes the early guilty plea (187 penalty points), and 2 weeks if he contests the charge at the judiciary and is found guilty (250 penalty points).

Rabbitohs v Dragons

Dan Hunt (STGI) was charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Sam Burgess (11th minute). He will not serve a suspension regardless of his plea (56 penalty points early, 75 if found guilty at the judiciary).

Trent Merrin (STGI) was charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Chris McQueen (13th minute). He will not serve a suspension regardless of his plea (56 penalty points early, 75 if found guilty at the judiciary).

Josh Miller (STGI) was charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Sam Burgess (51st minute). He will not serve a suspension regardless of his plea (67 penalty points early, 90 if found guilty at the judiciary).

Greg Inglis (SOU) was charged with a Grade 4 Dangerous Contact (Shoulder) on Dean Young (33rd minute). He will serve a 4 game suspension if he takes the early guilty plea (412 penalty points), and a 5 game suspension if contests the charge and is found guilty (550 penalty points).

Sharks v Raiders

Josh Papalii (CAN) was charged with a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact (with Kicker) on Jeff Robson (1st minute). He has already taken the guilty plea and will miss no matches (75 penalty points).

Panthers v Roosters

Travis Burns (PEN) was charged twice:
- Grade 2 Dangerous Contact (Unnecessary Arm/Shoulder Pressure) on Mose Masoe (30th minute). He will earn 3 matches suspension for an early guilty plea (318 penalty points) and 4 matches for an unsuccessful contest at the judiciary (425 penalty points)
- Grade 3 Intentional High Tackle on Martin Kennedy (71st minute). He will earn a 9 match suspension for an early guilty plea (956 penalty points), or 12 matches for an unsuccessful contest at the judiciary (1275 penalty points).
