NSW side named for Origin
III

The NSW selectors have named their finest 17 men to take on Queensland in the third and deciding State of Origin match at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on July 6.

Paramatta?s Timana Tahu has won the wing spot up for grabs in the NSW side with Penrith?s Luke Rooney ruled out through injury. He beat other candidates Eric Grothe jnr, Matt Geyer and Amos Roberts to the punch following a string of solid performances at club level, with previous experience there counting for him.

The only other change sees injured utility Craig Wing replaced by Panthers halfback Craig Gower on the bench with selectors resisting the urge to bring Bulldogs forward Mark O?Meley back into the team and passing over Dragons pivot Trent Barrett.

The full squad is:

Anthony Minichiello Matt King Mark Gasnier Matt Cooper Timana Tahu Braith Anasta Andrew Johns Jason Ryles Danny Buderus (c) Luke Bailey Nathan Hindmarsh Craig Fitzgibbon Ben Kennedy
