Sharkies prop Danny Nutley will contest a grade one dangerous throw charge at the NRL judiciary tonight in an effort to be cleared for Sunday afternoon's game against Manly at Brookvale Oval.
Nutley was handed the charge following a tackle on Penrith's Luke Priddis, which was a little dubious, and could be suspended for two weeks if found guilty by the panel of judges.
Meanwhile, Sea Eagles winger John Hopoate called up the ballboy he abused over the weekend and personally apologised over the phone.
Following an incident during the club's game against the Warriors in Auckland last Sunday, Hopoate saw the error of his ways and rang young Jamel Thompson to make amends after harassing the kiddie after he placed the ball on the line following a kick for touch. NRL rules stipulate that the Jamel did the right thing, but Hoppa launched a tirade against the youngster because he would have preferred the ball passed to him.
NRL chief operating officer Graham Annesley reported that Manly acknowledged Hopoate had behaved inappropriately, and apologised for his actions.
