NZ Bartercard Cup - Round 11
review

Round 11 of New Zealand's Bartercard Cup competition saw most of the game played in very wet conditions. The game between Wellington and the Hibiscus Coast Raiders due to be played in Wellington on Saturday afternoon was finally abandoned due to atrocious conditions.

The Tigers found the going tough against the Central Falcons on Friday night but once again their home ground advantage at Albany came through for them as they ran away for the win.

Eastern Tornadoes found their form to put on a solid performance against the Glenora Bears and keep themselves in contention for a play-off spot.

Otahuhu Ellerslie with one game in hand hold onto second position after a tough game against Counties Manakau Jetz. The Jetz are still in 6th position nipping at the heels of the Top 5.

Both the Eastern Tornadoes and Otahuhu Ellerslie have the next Round on the sidelines, as they have played their Round 12 match already.

Just as the Wai-Coa-Bay Stallions appeared to be getting the calls and surging to their first win in almost two months, once again they switched off. After the Stallions levelled the game at 12-12, the Lions scored three tries and 16 points in a 12 minutes in the second half, to win by 28-16.

The Canterbury Bulls showed once they will again be around at finals time and have no fear of playing away as both they and the Marist Richmond Brothers put on a fine display at Ericsson. Very level pegging right throughout the match by the two talented sides saw the score levelled up continuously. The match winning try scored with just eight minutes left on the clock by Brothers fullback Jan Tiavale.
