NZ's Bartercard Cup competition -
Round 12 preview

Although last week's game between the North Harbour Tigers and Counties Manukau Jets was postponed due to a bereavement, the Tigers have still managed to hold the number one spot in the Bartercard Cup competition heading into Round 12.

The Tigers have a tough battle on Saturday afternoon as they head across the bridge to take on last year's champions Mt Albert in a top of the table clash. Last week the Lions achieved what many teams are unable to do, and that was to defeat the Canterbury Bulls in Christchurch.

The Counties Manukau Jets come up against Marist Richmond Brothers on Saturday afternoon, who after leading at halftime last Sunday against the visiting Wellington side, allowed the game to slip away in the second half.

Other games have the Raiders hosting the bottom placed Waicoa Bay Stallions at Whangaparoa while the Central Falcons will hope to regather some form as they travel further south to Wellington.

The final game of the week is between the Glenora Bears and Eastern Tornadoes out at Waitakere. The Bears come off a good win over the Falcons last week and while both sides are near the bottom of the ladder, these two sides are evenly matched and this has the making of a good game.

Canterbury Bulls and Otahuhu Ellerslie both have a rest this weekend.
