O'Donnell fails to receive leave to
appeal

National Rugby League judiciary chairman Judge Greg Woods has refused the Wests Tigers leave to appeal the 11 week suspension of Luke O'Donnell on a dangerous striking charge.

Judge Woods says he can't support the Wests Tigers' argument that the penalty was manifestly excessive.

O'Donnell will be eligible to play again in round 14 of the premiership. The young forward was suspended after a late tackle on Canberra's Michael Monaghan, which left the Raiders rookie halfback with a broken jaw.
