Off the Wall

Since my favourite football coach Sven-Goran-Erikssen has returned to coaching in the UK Premier League, I have started taking an interest in UK soccer again.

More on why Sven is my favourite coach on another occasion, but the outcome of the Liverpool v Chelsea one all draw the weekend before last should be taken notice of by the NRL.

The referee, Rob Styles, made one bad mistake, and as a result he was dropped from the Premier League for the round just concluded. One bad mistake, gone!

If that high benchmark was applied in the NRL then the line up of referees and video referees for the final round this weekend would include Matt Ceechin, Mohamad Fajajo, Russell Turner and Tony De Las Heras. And the match of the round would be controlled by the great Steve
