Origin Stars Return For Storm But
Robinson Out

Melbourne Storm will welcome back its State of Origin stars for this Sunday?s clash with the Brisbane Broncos at Olympic Park but may well be without underrated second-rower Peter Robinson.

Barring injury in Wednesday night?s third State of Origin match Melbourne prop Robbie Kearns and hooker Cameron Smith will slot back into the Storm line-up this week but Robinson is struggling to overcome knee and ankle injuries.

The 27-year-old back-rower?s right leg was injured in the opening minutes of last week?s six-point win over North Queensland.

Robinson hasn?t been named for Sunday?s match and will need to make a rapid recovery this week if he is to play.

?He (Robinson) has a bad ankle sprain that has been responding quite slowly to treatment,? Storm doctor Greg Hickey said.

?He has also suffered a minor medial ligament sprain in his right knee. Neither injury is all that serious but they have certainly slowed his recovery this week.?

Prop Kirk Reynoldson is expected to make a full recovery after being knocked out during last Saturday?s match and as such has been named as Robinson?s replacement in the back-row.

Similarly rookie Dustin Cooper will be monitored throughout the week after suffering concussion in the second half of Saturday night?s match, he is expected to play against Brisbane.

31-year-old Kearns will partner Mitchell Sargent in the front-row while Smith?s return to hooker has forced Nathan Friend and Danny Williams on to a six-man bench with two players to be omitted before Sunday.

Forward utility Glen Turner is eligible to play this week after he entered an early plea for a grade two careless high tackle charge stemming from last week?s match.
