Origin wrap

The New South Wales State of Origin side resumed training this morning after the players were given yesterday off. The Blues will begin fine-tuning their preparation for Wednesday night's must-win game two against Queensland with a run at Aussie Stadium.

Coach Graham Murray has endorsed public calls by selectors and players for more aggression, saying they have helped lift the intensity in the Blues camp.

NSW prop Luke Bailey says the Blues forwards have been holding meetings in camp to ensure they match the passion of their Queensland rivals.

Bailey says second rower Willie Mason has been leading the sessions and the Blues forwards believe they are not too far behind the Maroons. Bailey says his comments on the weekend that suggested Queensland's passion can't be matched by NSW were meant to be a challenge to his teammates.

Queensland captain Darren Lockyer says his injured back is still not one hundred per cent but he is in no doubt for Wednesday night's second State of Origin rugby league match.

Lockyer says his back is still stiff but it won't stop him from leading Queensland against the Blues as they attempt to break their Telstra Stadium hoodoo and wrap up the Origin series.

Queensland coach Mal Meninga was happy enough with the team's first training session in Terrigal yesterday afternoon to give the players a day off today. The Queenslanders have had limited chances train because of the storm conditions on the Central Coast which also blacked out their power at their accomodation.

The Queenslanders will head to Sydney tomorrow with a scheduled final training run at Telstra stadium tomorrow afternoon.
