Overnight Wrap

Luke Priddis' six-week NRL exile will soon be over with Penrith's 2003 premiership hero recalled to play against South Sydney on Saturday.

The Panthers, though, have dropped fellow co-captain Tony Puletua, with fullback Richie Williams also axed. Priddis has spent the past month in premier league after initially being rested by coach Matt Elliott because of a niggling groin injury.

Promising rookie Jarrod Sammut has been named at fullback.

Over to the red-and-whites now, and St George Illawarra forward Ashton Sims has been named to play Newcastle on Friday in his first game since suffering a knee injury in round 11, but star five-eighth Mark Gasnier has again been left off the Dragons' team sheet because of a hip concern.

Up north, Gold Coast halfback Scott Prince is confident of making his return from a collarbone injury a week early after being named to play his old club Wests Tigers on Saturday.

Prince's comeback could not come at a better time for the struggling Titans who have lost their last five and are most likely one more loss away from ending their campaign to make the finals in their debut season.

Prince replaces Josh Lewis at halfback with Preston Campbell retaining the five-eighth position.
