Overnight wrap: Judiciary, King, Seymour

Parramatta will today decide whether to contest prop Fuifui Moimoi's reckless high tackle charge at the NRL judiciary.

Moimoi will get a seven-match ban for his high shot on Manly's Brent Kite if he enters an early guilty plea and risks a 10-game ban if he fights the charge and loses. It's his third such charge in less than two years, having missed 15 games because of two bans last season.

New Zealand prop Ruben Wiki and Sydney Roosters back Amos Roberts will also decide whether to contest charges today with Wiki facing a one or two match ban for a high tackle and Roberts looking at two games for a dangerous throw.

Elsewhere, Melbourne centre Matt King has apologised for his one-finger salute to St George Illawarra fans in the Storm's win over the Dragons at OKI Jubilee Stadium.

King made the gesture after scoring his second try in the 34-24 win yesterday, but has since offered regret for his actions after a meeting with Storm chief executive Brian Waldron.

And finally, in an unprecedented move, the Broncos today released a statement saying it had contacted Queensland police to investigate an incident allegedly involving one of its players.

Broncos boss Bruno Cullen says he is disappointed halfback Brett Seymour has been named as the player in the middle of an investigation into an alleged incident at a Brisbane hotel early yesterday morning.

Channel Seven said the club had asked Queensland Police to investigate claims Seymour was involved in an alleged assault at a Toowong hotel in Brisbane's inner-west. Channel Seven also said police claimed a female hotel patron was deciding whether to make a complaint.

Cullen says he can't confirm whether Seymour has been involved in an incident at about 12.30am yesterday morning (AEST) at the hotel where several Broncos players gathered after losing 20-6 to the Wests Tigers on Sunday afternoon. But Cullen says the Broncos will also conduct a thorough internal investigation of the rumours that emerged today.
