Panthers make it three in a row

The Penrith Panthers have claimed their third consecutive win with an unconvincing 17-10 victory over the Parramatta Eels in front of 9,327 fans at Parramatta Stadium.

The Parramatta Eels got off to an atrocious start, with Fuifui Moimoi losing the ball in his first hit up of the match.

Some strong defence from the home side saw them survive the early onslaught from the Panthers. The Eels' defence was not as successful in the seventh minute when Luke Walsh created a try for David Simmons. Walsh added the extras.

The Panthers were over again in the 23rd minute, this time it was through former Eel Kevin Kingston. Walsh added the extras again.

The Eels hitback 10 minutes later through Brayden Wiliame who scored in the corner after an offload from Ryan Morgan. Jake Mullaney failed to convert.

A 60-metre intercept try in the final seconds of the first-half saw the game hang in the balance at half-time.

David Simmons claimed his second nine minutes into the second half, but a missed conversion from Luke Walsh kept the Panthers' lead to six.
