Peachey Makes Sharks Trial Squad

David Peachey has been selected in a strong Cronulla squad for the NRL club's trial match on the Central Coast on Saturday night.

Peachey was granted time off training to deal with personal issues, promoting rumours he was ready to quit rugby league.

Coach Stuart Raper scotched those rumours and named the former NSW fullback in a 19-man squad today.

The squad includes captain Brett Kimmorley and recruits Nathan Merritt, Ryan McGoldrick, Michael Russo and Andrew Lomu.

Only Phil Bailey, Nigel Vagana and Jason Stevens - who are all unavailable through injury - are absent.

Squad: David Peachey, Nathan Merritt, Paul Franze, Ryan McGoldrick, Matt Rieck, Greg Bird, Brett Kimmorley, Danny Nutley, Dean Bosnich, Chris Beattie, Sam Isemonger, Paul Gallen, Matt Hilder. Interchange bench: Matt Bickerstaff, Michael Russo, Andrew Lomu, Dale Newton, Michael Sullivan, Jason Williams.
