Player news: Farah & Prince, Thompson

Wests Tigers have named Robbie Farah at halfback for Sunday's NRL clash with the Bulldogs at Telstra Stadium, with Scott Prince shifting to five-eighth in place of the injured Benji Marshall.

Marshall has been ruled out for the season with a shoulder injury, with regular hooker Farah to take up the playmaking duties in his absence. The Tigers are currently in 10th spot on the NRL ladder and desperately need a win to stay in touch with the top eight.

Elsewhere, veteran back-rower Lance Thompson has re-signed with NRL club Cronulla for an additional three years. The 28-year-old Thompson has been a key figure in the Sharks' rise to equal second on the competition ladder after winning eight of their past nine matches.

Thompson made his first grade debut for St George in 1995 as a 17-year-old and played 201 games for the Dragons before leaving on a sour note following a fallout with club officials.
