Preview: Catalans v Salford (R22)

Catalans Dragons will give a debut to prop Mathieu Griffi against Salford City Reds in Narbonne on Saturday.

The 23-year-old has joined the Dragons from sister club Union Treiziste Catalane in the French domestic competition.

?Mathieu has been a stand-out player for UTC all season," coach Mick Potter said.

?It?s an opportunity to see how he can perform at the next level. He?s athletic and very strong. It will be a good test for him.?

Another front rower, Lionel Teixida, is recalled for at the expense of Remi Casty for the French outfit.

Former Bradford Bulls and Great Britain hooker James Lowes will be in charge of Salford in the absence of incapacitated head coach Karl Harrison.

The Reds are boosted by the return of full-back Karl Fitzpatrick and stand-off Andrew Dunemann, while latest signing David Gower, a back-row forward, is poised to make his debut off the bench.
