Preview: Harlequins v
Barrow (C. Cup R5)

With Henry Paul and new Harlequins recruit Ade Adebisi both cup-tied (for this round only) Tony Rea will again call on youth this Saturday at the Twickenham Stoop when the Quins hope to progress through to the Powergen Challenge Cup Quarter Finals.

Harlequins will also be missing Captain Mark McLinden (hand) as well as six other players to injury.

Quins RL this week brought Ade Adebisi back from Hull FC to return to the squad on a full time basis but he too is cup-tied.

Adebisi will join the growing number of local London juniors in the full time squad which includes Tony Clubb, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook and Michael Worrincy who have all made debuts this season, and of course Joe Mbu.

Rea may opt to give young Michael Worrincy his first starting appearance, with the London back-rower making his top-flight debut off the bench last week in the loss to Bradford.

Players unavailable through injury include Paul Sykes (season), Mark McLinden (hand), Jon Wells (ankle), Karl Temata (chest), Daniel Heckenberg (hand), Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook (hand), Tommy Leuluai (hamstring)

Harlequins 20-man squad: Bradley-Qalilawa, Clubb, Dorn, Budworth, Gafa, Hartley, Haumono, Hopkins, Luisi, Lolohea, Mills, Mbu, Purdham, Randall, Sheriffe, Smith, Tookey, Weisner, Williams, Worrincy

SECOND division Raiders set off for the capital today hoping to pull off one of the giant-killing acts of all time in the fifth round of the Powergen Challenge Cup.

The 1,000-1 rank outsiders for the cup will be cheered on by a few hundred travelling fans when they take on Super League Harlequins at the Twickenham Stoop tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

And for one of the Raiders team it will be a nostalgic return to the London club ? then the Broncos ? where he started his career.

Southerner Geoff Luxon, who spent his formative years in Sydney, Australia, played for the London team (also formerly known as Fulham and then London Crusaders) in the early 90s.

The 34-year-old forward moved north to his ?adopted? town in 1995 after approaching coach Peter Roe because he knew one of the players (Adrian Why).

Luxon left during Roe?s second spell in 2004 following an operation for a neck injury, having scored 20 tries in 226 appearances for Barrow.

He made his comeback for Walney Central under coach Paul Crarey and this season followed ?Cresta? to Craven Park.

Says Luxon: ?The only person I?ll probably know is the kitman Steve McGee.

?He?s a legend who?s been there since the Fulham days.

?On the bright side Harlequins are not St Helens or Leeds and have a bad home record

?But we need to play really well and them really poorly for us to have a chance.

?Cresta is building up the kids for the future, something the club has needed for 10 years.?

Raiders? 23-year-old hooker Chris Archer was with the London Broncos Academy in 2002 while veteran centre Phil Atkinson and Crarey himself are the only survivors from the last Barrow side to face the Broncos in 1994 ? the London club gaining a 30-6 home victory at Barnet Copthall to complete a Division Two double.

Says Crarey: ?The players have got to be excited about playing against a Super League club and I?ll be pitting my wits against one of the best coaches in Britain, Tony Rea.?

Raiders will line up the same as against Swinton last Sunday except Jamie Butler comes in for the cup-tied Ian Rawlinson.

Raiders squad: Jones, J Finch, Atkinson, Harrison, Nixon, Kaighan, Holt, Raftery, Archer, Blake, Wilcock, McDermott, Whitehead, Marshall, Luxon, Wood, Butler.

Stand-off Liam Finch has not fully recovered from a cartilage injury and is 18th man while Michael Basan (knee) needs another week.
