Wakefield v Hull (Round 6)

Wakefield have goalkicking stand-off Jamie Rooney back from injury as they look to prevent Hull completing the first double of the season at Belle Vue on Sunday.

Rooney, who celebrated his 26th birthday on Friday, has not played for eight months because of knee surgery but makes a timely return with Ben Jeffries out with rib cartilage damage.

?It?s been an nightmare,? he said. ?When you haven?t played for such a long time and your livelihood is taken away from you, you get down on yourself.

?Now I?m like a kid waiting for Christmas and can?t wait to play.?

Wakefield, who will not be able to play utility back Tommy Saxton because of a clause in his loan deal from Hull, have lost four of their five matches, including a 40-14 reversal at the KC Stadium a month ago.

They were beaten 48-10 at Salford a week ago but Hull coach John Kear is taking little heed of that result.

?We?re expecting a really tough game as we know that Wakefield didn?t do themselves justice against Salford last week,? he said.

?They have got some good personnel in their team and we know that they?re a far better team than their league position suggests.

?We are prepared for the danger that they will pose. We were heartened by our performance against Bradford but we know we can only get the two points if our performance is right.?
