Price may be sidelined for 12
weeks

New Zealand Warriors' skipper Steve Price has been sidelined for a maximum of 12 weeks with a knee injury.

Named man-of-the-match in last Wednesday's State of Origin encounter, Priced was forced from the field with ligament damage in the second half of the Warriors' 21-4 victory over Wests Tigers at Ericsson Stadium on Sunday.

The 31-year-old prop has been ruled out of the Queensland line up for the remainder of the State of Origin series.

After visiting a specialist today, Price's worst fears were realised but further scans are still required. If the scans confirm today's findings, Price would have knee surgery on Friday.

Should surgery be required, Price is not expected to play again until round 25 (August 25-8) when the Warriors take on Manly.
