This is elimination football for both sides this week as a loss here for either team would probably signal the end of their finals aspirations. Norths sit just outside the top five with 21 points, with the Pride right behind them on 20.

The Pride will go into this game confident of their chances, having produced a dramatic 44-16 win over Wynnum Manly in their last game. The Devils too would be buoyed by their strong performance last weekend, going down 40-32 to the Redcliffe Dolphins in a high-scoring affair.

Norths have named an unchanged side for this game, while the Pride will be without skipper Ty Williams who suffered an ACL injury early in their round 19 win. Five-eighth Shaun Nona and halfback Mitchell Seri have been retained in the halves, with Hezron Murgha to play at fullback in the place of Williams.

Veteran centre Brett Anderson is the new captain. Norths beat the Pride 26-14 earlier in the season at Bishop Park, but they have a horror record against the Pride in Cairns, having lost all of their five previous games. Luke Samoa will play his 50th Cup game (all for Norths) and has been named to play in the centres.

The mystery punter says:
Northern Pride by 6. It is near impossible to separate these teams with so much on the line, but home ground advantage tips the scales the Pride
