Rabbitohs: Anderson won't be coming
here

South Sydney have denied that they will hire former Australian and premiership winning coach Chris Anderson as a coaching director at the club.

Media reports suggested that Anderson would join the struggling club in a similar role held by Phil Gould at the Sydney Roosters.

It?s understood that influential radio broadcaster Alan Jones, who has huge pull at the Rabbitohs, was urging the club to consider hiring Anderson to assist head coach Paul Langmack.

But the Rabbitohs say they have no intention of hiring Anderson, who was left without a job after being sacked by the Sharks last season and losing his role as Australian coach.

?Any suggestion that the Board is contemplating, or has even considered, the appointment of Mr Anderson to any position at the Club is unfounded,? Rabbitohs Chairman Nick Pappas said. ?At no time has the Board discussed such a matter.?

?The Club is contractually committed to its Head Coach Paul Langmack and Paul continues to enjoy the confidence of the Board as Head Coach.?

There is one position the Rabbitohs have available, however, with the club today advertising a refreshment steward position.

Prospective applicants must be available to attend training sessions throughout the week and on weekends, both during the day and evenings, as well as attending both home and away games throughout the season.
