Rabbitohs in turmoil, Broncos given
extra time

Bunnies skipper Bryan Fletcher (pictured) will spend a week holding tackle bags after submitting an early guilty plea to the NRL last night regarding his striking charge.

'Fletch' was pinged for striking Storm flanker Matt King in the 5th minute of last weekend's drubbing.

And it doesn't get any better over at Redfern, with big off-season purchase Adam Macdougall being operated on today after snapping his Achilles tendon in the same game. Macdougall won't be able to lace a boot for the remainder of the 2004 season.

Meanwhile, the Broncos have been granted an extension of time in which to lodge an appeal to the NRL protesting the deduction of two competition points.

The Brisbane club now have until the 28th of April to obtain leave to appeal over an illegal interchange during the round three match against the Wests Tigers, involving Corey Parker, Shane Webcke and one of the touchie's.

Sir Laurence Street, big-cheese down at the Appeals Committee, granted the extension yesterday with the NRL also agreeing to the date.
