Rabbitohs statement regarding Kirisome Auva’a

On 18 January 2014, the South Sydney Rabbitohs reported an alleged incident involving player Kirisome Auva'a to the NRL's Integrity Unit. The incident is alleged to have occurred in January this year and has resulted in charges of Recklessly Cause Injury and Criminal Damage (Intent Damage/Destroy) being laid against Auva'a.

The player first informed the Club of the incident on 18 January 2014. The player was stood down from his duties at the time and a fine was issued to him.

Auva'a pleaded guilty to the charges in Melbourne today. The matter has been adjourned until November this year, with the Magistrate recommending that Auva'a attends a weekly change in behaviour course, as well as supporting and working with the White Ribbon campaign.

Both Auva'a and the Rabbitohs fully support the recommendations of the Magistrate and will follow her instructions.

As this matter is still before the courts, the Rabbitohs cannot, and will not, make any further comment at this time.
