Raiders name squad to take on the
Eels

Canberra Raiders backrower Ian Hindmarsh says he is confident of recovering from an elbow injury to take on his former club the Eels at Parramatta Stadium this Sunday.

Hindmarsh injured the elbow in Saturday night?s three-point loss to the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville and he was originally considered no chance of playing against the Eels.

But Hindmarsh trained this morning and insists he will be fit, as the Raiders cling to hopes of a top-eight finish.

Off to join new French Super League club Les Catalans at the end of this NRL season, Hindmarsh said an impending clash with younger brother Nathan was not his major motivation this weekend.

?I want to finish the season on a good note for the Raiders,? Hindmarsh said. ?I hyper-extended the elbow on Saturday night, but it?s feeling a lot better now. I?m just going to put myself in the right frame of mind to play.?

Canberra?s attitude hasn?t been the problem this season. The Raiders haven?t won a game since defeating the Eels 26-18 at Canberra Stadium in Round 19, but they have been extremely competitive in all five games that have followed.

?We?ve been playing reasonably well, we just haven?t been able to get a win,? Hindmarsh said. ?They say you make your own luck, so we just need to keep putting ourselves in the position to win games. I?m sure every team in the competition would realise that when they play us it?s not going to be a stroll in the park.?

The Raiders have named the same 19-man squad that prepared for last weekend?s match against the Cowboys.
