Raiders secure rain soaked victory

The Canberra Raiders faithful turned out to watch their side claim their 12th straight home victory at Canberra Stadium with a 14-0 defeat of the Parramatta Eels.

Just two tries were claimed by the home team in the first half which saw the Green Machine lead 12-0 at the half time break.

Man of the Match Terry Campese guided his side to victory as his kick lead to the first try which was awarded to his halves partner, Josh McCrone. The Raiders off to an earlier 6-0 lead after 7 minutes.

The second four-pointer game 10 minutes before the break as young winger Sami Sauiluma strolled over untouched in the corner as Campese on fire again with a floating pass. The Raiders untouchable with a 12-0 lead.

The wet conditions saw a high amount of errors from both sides, which cost each team possession and try scoring opportunities. However, the Raiders sealed the victory after Joseph Paulo was sin binned for a professional foul in the 74th as he pulled Shaun Fensom off the pass. Josh McCrone slot the penalty goal to secure the 14-0 win.

Things don't get any easier for the Eels as they travel back to Sydney to face the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs next week. Meanwhile the Raiders head to WIN Stadium, Wollongong to battle the St. George Illawarra Dragons.
