A strong showing by the Dolphins at Langlands Park last Saturday saw the Red and Whites walk away with 2 wins and a draw.

The Colts continued their promising start to the season with a 32-24 win over the previously unbeaten East?s outfit. It was a tight encounter that was up for grabs until a try in the dying minutes secured the game for the young Dolphins. Most pleasing for Coach Craig Ingebrigtsen has been the sides discipline after early season games saw the team conceding too many unnecessary penalties. Back rower Foisa Peni (Pictured) was dominant throughout the game and received the LEADING EDGE SPORTS Man of the Match award while young hooker Joel Romelo excelled in his first game of senior football laying on a nice try for Captain Tim Benson. Another challenge awaits the side this weekend when they will be without half Asher Elemani and Dane Hogan who are away with the AIS squad for the match against the traditionally strong Burleigh.

A much improved A Grade side scrabbled an 18 all draw in the final minutes of play with a bullocking try to prop Darren Glase. The side?s defense was a vast improvement on the week before and although the sides attack still needs some work there were some encouraging signs for Coach Grant Cleal. Centre convert Matt Mannion had a strong game at lock picking up the HOGS BREATH CAFE Man of the Match award and received strong support from Pat McGill and Lucas Dearden. The Dolphins tackle the unbeaten Burleigh side this weekend and will be keen to build on the gains made last weekend.

A powerful first 10 minutes and final 20 saw the Premier Grade post a forceful 48 points to 22 win over the East?s Tigers last week. Slipping out to an early 16 nil lead the Dolphins looked to be comfortable before the Tigers fought back on their home soil to tie the game up 22 all mid way through the second half. This sparked the Dolphins into action piling on 26 unanswered points by the time the final hooter sounded. New recruit Pat Gardner was a stand out and was rewarded for his effort by grabbing both the SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS Player of the Match and KEYSTAR AUTOWORLD Players Player awards while Mick Roberts is starting to look at home in the hooking role with some solid defense and darting runs from dummy half, Shane Perry also deserves mention and was constantly asking questions of the Tigers defensive line. This week the side tackles last year?s grand finalists Burleigh and will be looking to avenge a heavy defeat at the hands of the Bears in the corresponding game last year.

Saturday April 15 Premier Grade game represents the first televised game of the season when the Dolphins travel to Bishop Park to tackle Norths. The A Grade and Colts also take on the Devils with all 3 games sure to be closely contested matches.
