Fullback: Wade McKinnon (Warriors) - The Warriors new fullback was a standout against his former club and looks to have become stronger and faster. His running was a highlight of the game and looks to be a major upgrade over Brent Webb.
Wing: Mat Rogers (Titans) - Had a good, solid debut in his first game back in league. Looked very comfortable and was very involved. Has lost none of his skills.
Centre: Shannon Hegarty(Rabbitohs) - Had his best game in Souths colours and looks rejuvenated and should make an impact if he can remain injury free.
Centre: Jamie Lyon (Sea Eagles) - Scored two tries on debut for Manly and got better as the game went on. Had a dusty start but will get better by the week for the Sea Eagles. Is a better centre than five eighth.
Wing: Israel Folau (Storm) - Strapping youngster from the Storm scored a try on debut and will be a handful in his first year of first grade.
Five eighth: Jarrod Mullen (Knights) - Played superbly without Johns and the Knights fans will breathe a sigh of relief as the Knights actually won a game without Johns and Buderus. Mullen is the future of the Knights.
Halfback: Joe Williams (Rabbitohs) - The energizer bunny was everywhere last night and will enjoy having an improved forward pack to play behind. His goal kicking has improved as well.
Lock: Ben Creagh (Dragons) - Best player on the field for the Dragons and is bound for much higher honours this year.
Second row: Simon Mannering (Warriors) - Came on strong late last year and has taken significant strides on the back of his representative honours. A player to keep an eye on.
Second Row: Steve Simpson (Knights) - In the absence of Andrew Johns and Danny Buderus, he showed great leadership to rally the Knights and get them home in a one point thriller.
Front Row: Roy Asotasi (Rabbitohs) - His signature is already starting to pay off with a robust display against the Roosters. Arguably the best front rower in the game today.
Hooker: Simon Woolford (Dragons) - Great debut for his new club and was very involved against the Titans. He will provide a steadying influence to a young side.
Front Row: Steve Price (Warriors) - Was outstanding for the Warriors and always leads from the front. His pairing with Ruben Wiki gives the Warriors the best front row in the NRL.
Interchange: Matt Bowen (Cowboys), PJ Marsh (Eels), Andrew Ryan (Bulldogs), Nigel Vagana (Rabbitohs).
