SURVEY GETS IT ALL WRONG
An independent survey, called the Sweeney Sports Report, has Rugby Union on top of Rugby League by way of nationwide interest.
The report somehow made it into a national newspaper and was welcomed by Australian Rugby Union Managing Director Gary Flowers who was quoted as saying it was a great result for Rugby Union.
ROOSTERS SHOW THEIR ATTACK
THE Sydney Roosters have not failed to score a point in a game since 1994 when they went down 34-0 to Manly at Brookvale Oval.
Only Luke Ricketson is still playing the game that was part of the Roosters side 11 years ago. And he was playing in the centres alongside Frank Napoli.
NEW TV DEAL FOR NRL
Rugby League has set a new standard in Australian sporting rights, guaranteeing the game's financial future for the next seven years.
Contracts have been renewed with both the Nine Network and Fox Sports until the end of 2012 in a rights negotiation that will see more matches on free to air television, more live games on subscription television and more investment in every level of the game.
WILL ANASTA BE HEADING TO BONDI JUNCTION?
THE Sydney Roosters are desperate for a quality five-eighth and have put all their resources in attracting a number six to Bondi Junction next season.
Braith Anasta is the obvious choice to wear the number six jersey in 2006 with he Roosters having already used four different five-eighths this year.
