BULLDOGS PREPARE FOR WORLD CLUB CHALLENGE The World Club Challenge between NRL premiers Bulldogs and English Super League champions Leeds will be staged at Elland Road on February 4. Leeds Rhinos' home ground of Headingley was not considered as it only has a capacity of 21,225 and club officials are confident that they can attract more than 30,000 to Elland Road. JIM BEAM CUP TO EXPAND OVERSEAS An overseas-based consortium are looking at fielding a side in the Jim Beam Cup competition in the near future. The 2005 Jim Beam Cup will consist of 11 teams with Belrose and Asquith replacing Ryde-Eastwood and Souths Juniors. However, the New South Wales Rugby League is still hopeful of having 12 teams in the competition. Find out more in the latest issue of Rugby League Review.

HUGE PROFIT FROM TRI-NATIONS Emerging nations will be the biggest beneficiaries from the cash windfall generated by the success of the inaugural Gillette Tri Nations Series. Organisers were taken aback by the popularity of the triangular tournament and after budgeting conservatively following the heavy losses sustained by the 2000 World Cup, are set to cash in on bumper crowds.
