Ryles out for a month

St George Illawarra captain Jason Ryles is expected to be out of action for up to a month with a knee injury, ruling him out of contention for a NSW State of Origin recall.

Ryles dislocated his right knee cap during the Dragons loss to Melbourne yesterday, but MRI scans have cleared the prop of any major structural damage. He will get a second opinion tomorrow to determine the exact extent of his injury and recovery time, but he has already been told he will need to allow the injury time to settle before playing again.

Dragons officials have confirmed Ryles will be unavailable for NSW selection and definitely won't play against Manly this weekend.
