Sam Faust passes away, age 26

THE North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are saddened to hear of the passing of our former player, Sam Faust, in Townsville this morning.
Sam was a valued member of the Cowboys playing staff until his football career was cut short when he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in 2009.
Sam, who was born in Prosperpine, played 24 NRL games for North Queensland in 2007 and 2008.
He made his NRL debut for the club in round 10 of the 2007 season and played in the five straight victories to end that home and away season and in the Cowboys' three finals appearances.
He played his junior football with the Brahmans in his home town.
North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Chief Executive Peter Jourdain said Sam's passing was a very sad day for the Cowboys and the rugby league community.
