Scorpions smash Skolars to go top of the league

SOUTH WALES SCORPIONS 48 defeated LONDON SKOLARS 6

South Wales Scorpions produced a solid display at The Gnoll to canter to a 48-6 victory over London Skolars.

The men from the capital may be rooted to the bottom of the league without a win in 2010 but on this performance, the Scorpions would have won against any of their Championship 1 opposition. They made few errors, were solid in defence and rip-roaring in attack.

Scorpions took the lead after only two minutes after somehow managing to keep the ball alive after the fifth tackle. White's bomb was sent backwards by the wing. Andrew Gay did well to pass the ball out to Aled James while under pressure. He in turn set up Steve Parry who ran over. White converted.

The lead was doubled four minutes later. Christiaan Roets made the break and Loz Wildbore was in the right position to run home. White had no problems with the extras again.

Lewis Mills thought he'd scored a third for Scorpions on 19 minutes but he was ruled to have ripped the ball rather than winning a one on one and the try was disallowed.
