Scottwood Trust National Rugby League 7's 2006

Waitangi Weekend sees the holding of the 3rd Annual Scottwood Trust National Rugby League Sevens Tournament at the North Harbour Stadium, Albany, Auckland.

The Tournament will see the 10 Bartercard Cup teams competing against 8 Provincial teams plus a Defence Force team and also the winners of last seasons Mad Butcher Fox Memorial, the Manurewa Marlins.

The tournament commences at 9.00am on Saturday the 4 February 2006 and will see 20 teams divided into 5 pools striving to qualify for the Cup, Plate and Bowl Sections.

Sunday the 5 February 2006 will commence at 10.00am with the various sections playing a sudden death knock out competition to find the Cup, Plate and Bowl Finalists.

In all, the Tournament will see 47 games of fast, open, entertaining Rugby League and it is hoped that some new stars of the future are exposed. To this end the Kiwi Coach and the NZ Warriors have expressed their interest in viewing the abundance of talent on show.

The winners of the Cup section will represent the NZRL at the St Mary?s Sevens in Sydney on the weekend of 11 ? 12 February 2006.
