The Wigan club can today confirm that Prop Danny Sculthorpe has signed a new three year deal which will keep him at the JJB Stadium until the end of 2007.
Sculthorpe who is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury has been in tremendous form and has become one of the top young forwards in the game.
Chairman Maurice Lindsay said,
"We are delighted that Danny has pledged his future to the club. Since joining us from Rochdale he has developed into a top classplayer and a future international.The news comes on the back of some of our other young talent in Gareth Hock and Sean O Loughlin signing contract extensions. We are very keen to hold on to players like Danny. It is important the squad has a blend of quality young players together with more experienced players."
Coach Denis Betts said,
"Danny has developed into a top quality player and are very pleased he has committed his future to us."
Danny Sculthorpe added,
"I am pleased to have put pen to paper with Wigan until 2007. The club has shown great faith in me.I am looking forward to returning to the side and am determined to be back fitter and stronger, hopefully before the end of the season.
