Sea Eagles farewell Mauro, Foran

The Sea Eagles will farewell prop Vic Mauro and half Liam Foran this month after the pair signed with Super League team Salford City Reds.

Sea Eagles coach Geoff Toovey said they will be missed but both will make great representatives of Australian rugby league overseas.

"We're sad to see them go but it's a great opportunity for the boys in a fantastic competition.

"Vic's a local junior and a great ambassador for our junior leagues.

"He's come right through our junior representative system, from North Curl Curl Knights to winning an NRL grand final, and now he's off to ply his trade overseas.

"Liam showed off his ability on the big stage last season and he's sure to excel in the Super League.

"I wish both of them the best of luck and look forward to seeing them in action for Salford City."

Mauro, an Italian international, made his NRL debut for the Sea Eagles in Round 24, 2007.

The hard-working front rower has played 47 games for Manly, always making an impact when he's on the field.

After joining the club in 2011, Foran made his first grade debut for the Sea Eagles in Round 6 last season, impressing the fans at Brookvale as he stepped in for his brother Kieran at five-eighth.

They will continue training with the Sea Eagles squad until their departure.
