Sea Eagles turn it up in Brisbane

Match Summary With the Brisbane Broncos missing key players, the Sea Eagles easily defeated the home side by 30-12 in front of a smaller crowd than usual at Suncorp Stadium this afternoon in Brisbane.

The Broncos started off the game extremely well with two quick tries to Kemp and Ennis and looked to be a very competitive young side.

However, the patience shown by the Sea Eagles soon came to the fore as they settled into their game in a clinical fashion. Although the Broncos were up 12-6 at the break, the momentum had certainly swung towards the visitors' favour.

24 unanswered point to the Sea Eagles, including a try to the veteran Steve Menzies (his first for 2008), in the 2nd half showed just what a complete outfit the Manly side are. Their defence was outstanding as was their attack with Orford and Lyon continually set up play after play trying to breech the gallant but tiring Broncos defence.

Karmichael Hunt was outstanding at the back for the Broncos. If not for his safe hands as his side was hounded continuously, the scoreline would certainly be greater.

The Broncos now have to travel to Sydney to take on the Sharks in Round 10, while the Sea Eagles will host the Cowboys at Bluetongue Stadium.
